It was about 68* on my way to work (and since I have not really adjusted to the cooler weather yet too cool to have the top down) But the bay was as calm and flat as a mill pond, the skies were clear to the east and filled with pink/gray clouds towards the Gulf. I listened to a tape of some of my favorite waltzes (and anyone who thinks that is "gay" can kiss my ass) Supposed to be raining tomorrow (ofcourse I'm taking the day off) but a great weekend weather wise.
2 months agio yesterday Charley was bearing down on us. That's a day I'll never forget, much like 9/11 the images of that day are forever etched on my psyche. What I remember most is all the traffic on the bridges people trying to get out and the beautiful weather we had that day (which was actually the 12th, the 13th was when it made landfall) but it was surrealistic to me. Here it was calm and sunny and breezy and pandemonium was in the air. A monster was creeping towards us and if it had made a direct landfall on it's original track slicing right into Tampa, Pinellas County could well be an island now. (Shudders to think about it)
So today I am not only very grateful but very content just to be here and enjoying all the natural beauty this area offers. Which is why I moved here to begin with and which is why I'll never live anywhere else as long as I live.
